ABC News' “World News Tonight with David Muir” opened the 2019-2020 season with the largest premiere week Total Viewer victory in 24 years (7.961 million) – since the 1995-1996 season – for the week of Sept. 23, 2019, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. The ABC evening newscast led “NBC Nightly News” (7.279 million) by 682,000 to win premiere week for the 4th consecutive year – since the 2016-2017 season.  

For September 2019, “20/20” outdelivered NBC's “Dateline” in Total Viewers (+3% - 4.0 million vs. 3.9 million), beating the NBC newsmagazine during the month of September for the first time in 7 years – since September 2012. In addition, “20/20” was up over September 2018 by 5% in Total Viewers (4.0 million vs. 3.8 million), posting its most-watched September in 3 years – since September 2016.  

Cult-indie band Murder By Death is hitting the road early next year to celebrate 20 years since their first show. The milestone 2020 tour will feature songs selected from all eight albums in the band's catalog and fan-curated setlists each night.

Season two of the hit animated comedy-adventure series 'Big City Greens' premieres SATURDAY, NOV. 16 (9:30 a.m. EST/PST), on Disney Channel and in DisneyNOW. Created and executive produced by brothers Chris and Shane Houghton ('Harvey Beaks'), the series follows mischievous and optimistic 10-year-old Cricket Green who moves from the country to the big city with his wildly out of place family—older sister Tilly, father Bill and Gramma Alice. 'Big City Greens' ranks among the top five animated series across all Cable with Kids and Girls 6-11.

In Warner Bros. Pictures' “Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn),” Margot Robbie (“I, Tonya”) returns as Harley Quinn, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“10 Cloverfield Lane,” TV's “Fargo”) as Huntress; Jurnee Smollett-Bell (HBO's “True Blood”) as Black Canary; Rosie Perez (“Fearless,” “Pitch Perfect 2”) as Renee Montoya; Chris Messina (“Argo,” TV's “Sharp Objects”) as Victor Zsasz; and Ewan McGregor (upcoming “Doctor Sleep,” the “Trainspotting” films) as Roman Sionis. Laila Ali, a four-time undefeated world champion boxer, lifestyle expert, cooking enthusiast, two-time author and mom of two, has joined the team of special guest stars appearing in HGTV's epic reboot of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Award-winning actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, star of the ABC sitcom Modern Family, leads the charge as series host, with Ali and other special guests working alongside the regularly appearing designers Breegan Jane, Carrie Locklyn and Darren Keefe to execute knock-out home renovations for local heroes. Ali will appear in one of 10 highly anticipated new episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that will air on HGTV in early 2020.

Today, PBS KIDS announced a new animated series, HERO ELEMENTARY, set to premiere in the summer of 2020.  HERO ELEMENTARY is a school for budding superheroes, where kids learn to master their innate powers, like flying and teleportation, while exploring science along the way. HERO ELEMENTARY aims to give children ages 4 to 7 the tools to solve problems by thinking and acting like scientists and igniting their natural curiosity and empathy. This new multiplatform series, co-produced by Twin Cities PBS and Portfolio Entertainment, will debut nationwide on PBS stations, the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel, and PBS KIDS digital platforms.

Travel Channel is upping the ante on what it means to be scared with its brand-new heart-palpitating series, “Destination Fear,” premiering on Saturday, October 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The 10-episode series may be the most terrifying road trip ever attempted. Paranormal explorer and documentary filmmaker Dakota Laden – who has spent the last few years investigating the frightening unknown with the “Ghost Adventures” crew – is taking his sister, Chelsea Laden, and best friend, Tanner Wiseman, across the country in an RV to spend the night in the most haunted abandoned locations in America. Pursuing paranormal evidence, the team must first overcome fear itself.

The Hollywood Film Awards announced today that actor, comedian, writer and podcaster Rob Riggle, who has brought to life some of the most memorable and outrageous characters in films such as “Night School,” “21 Jump Street,” “The Other Guys” and “Step Brothers,” and received acclaim for his dramatic turns in “12 Strong” and “Midnight Sun,” will host the 23rd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards.”  Considered the official launch of the awards season®, this year's ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA.

Ben Platt and Beanie Feldstein are Broadway's favorite best friends. The duo were even recently announced as co-stars in the multi-year film adaptation of Merrily We Roll Along. Platt gave a touching tribute to Feldstein in Variety, and talked about how he and Feldstein became friends.

Billy Porter recently made history as the first openly gay black man to win the Emmy for Leading Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Pray Tell on FX's Pose. Porter opens up to Variety about how he owes his Emmy to Janet Mock, a writer, director, and producer on the show.

The iconic punk rock band, X, have announced their annual Holiday tour plans. Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake are hitting the West Coast for X-Mas '19, their annual holiday tour with stops in San Juan Capistrano, Sacramento, Sonoma, San Francisco, Seattle and finishing up on December 19 & 20 for their hometown Los Angeles finale shows. The Blasters will join X on all shows except Sonoma and Seattle.  X will also appear at the Wonderfront Festival in San Diego on November 24th.  Tickets for X-Mas '19 will be on sale as of October 4th with a pre-sale beginning October 2nd (use code: DELTA88).

Netflix has announced the ensemble cast for their family film Finding Ohana. The film stars Kea Peahu, Alex Aiono, Lindsay Watson, Owen Vaccaro, Kelly Hu, Ke Huy Quan, Marc Evan Jackson, Ricky Garcia, Ryan Higa, Mapuana Makia, Brad Kalilimoku, X Mayo, and Kyndra Sanchez.
