The animation studio from Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki who has made such films as Spirited Away and 2023's The Boy and the Heron, will receive the Honorary Palme d’Or award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The Cannes Film Festival is an annual festival taking place in France, which showcases new films of all genres. In its 77th year, the upcoming festival will be on May 14 and 15.

Been Stellar have shared another preview from their forthcoming debut Scream from New York, NY, out June 14th. White-knuckled and cutting, “Sweet” is a nihilistic anthem that builds from melancholic 90’s dream pop to guttural, rough-hewn rock, the band’s frenetic, interlocking rhythms threatening to disintegrate at any moment. The 2024 Tribeca Festival has unveiled its features lineup, offering a diverse array of narrative, documentary, and animated films, including several from Broadway favorites. The festival will see the world premiere of LIZA: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story about Broadway icon Liza Minnelli. Documentaries include the world premiere of Satisfied, an intimate look at the actress Renée Elise Goldsberry.

Babs is back! It has been announced that Emmy, Grammy, Oscar® and Tony Award-winning singer, songwriter, actress, writer, and director, Barbra Streisand has recorded a brand-new song “Love Will Survive,” which will be the end title of the upcoming Peacock and Sky Original series, The Tattooist of Auschwitz. This will be Streisand’s first ever recording for a TV series and will be released globally by Columbia Records on April 25th, ahead of the series global launch on May 2nd.

Acclaimed Irish indie rock band Pillow Queens is diving into intoxicating feelings with punchy, cathartic track and official video 'Heavy Pour' out now ahead of their LP release on Friday, April 19. The band's triumphant third studio album Name Your Sorrow is due out April 19 and available for pre-order now. Next month, the Chicago-based singer-songwriter and captivating guitarist Bill MacKay will release his forthcoming album, Locust Land. MTV, in partnership with the Malta Tourism Authority, have announced that Isle of MTV Malta will return to Malta’s il-Fosos Square on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, with headlining performances from DJ Snake and RAYE. Promising huge, open-air sets, for the now 16th year, this event has become known as Europe’s biggest free summer festival. 

Jonathan Bailey, who will be playing the character of Fiyero in the two-part film adaptation of Wicked, may have found his next big project. According to reports, the actor is in talks to star in the next installment of the Jurassic World series. He would join Scarlett Johannson in the film, which will serve as a reboot of the franchise following the conclusion of the previous Jurassic World trilogy in 2022.

According to a new report, actor Steve Buscemi will be returning to the small screen in an unconfirmed role in the second season of Tim Burton's Netflix series Wednesday. Though exact details are unknown, reports suggest that Buscemi would play the new principal of Nevermore Academy, following the demise of Gwendoline Christie's Larissa Weems at the end of Season 1.

All Things Go Festival 2024 has announced its 10th-anniversary edition, with headliners Laufey, who will be accompanied by The Kennedy Center Orchestra, Hozier, and Reneé Rapp as well as Bleachers, Janelle Monáe, Conan Gray, Chappell Roan and more. They will be performing at the legendary Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD on Saturday, September. 28th, and Sunday, September 29th.
