The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College announces its Fall 2010 Season at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College, 899 Tenth Avenue, NYC, presenting three series: The Art of Justice, which integrates the arts and issues on justice; Great Music for a Great City, unique explorations of classical music; and Familytime!, bringing the arts to the next generation.

On Saturday, August 14, music lovers will have their first chance to purchase single tickets for the Nashville Symphony's 2010/11 season. Prose will speak about her book, followed by an interview with David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director, and a Q&A with the audience.

The Theatre Department is holding community auditions for its fall mainstage production of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice for men's and women's roles aged 40 and older. Auditions will be held Tuesday, August 10th from 6:30-8:30 PM in Room 100 of the Cunningham Theatre Center.

The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF), a highly touted organization which provides financial grants and support services to deserving college students, will host the 5th Anniversary JAZZ on the Grass benefit concert (JAZZ) on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. in Sherman Oaks, California at the estate of Lynne and Oz Scott, renowned director and producer.

The Beef & Boards Theater proudly presents this summer's church comedy, Church Basement Ladies. The show will run from July 22- September 4th. In September, Beef & Boards will host the classic musical Camelot, which will run from September 7 to October 10.

B.B. King, the reigning master of rhythm and blues for more than four decades, and Buddy Guy, a pioneer of Chicago blues who influenced rock legends such as Clapton and Hendrix, return to the Hollywood Bowl stage, Wednesday, August 11, at 8 p.m. Guy opens in this evening of blues featuring two bona fide titans of the genre.

The Arts Edge, an educational consulting firm, has announced the winner of its Broadway-inspired scholarship for Arts Edge Summer, a unique two-week musical theater and college prep boot camp in New York City. Rain Halbert, a 17 year old musical theater enthusiast from Titusville, Fla., was chosen from of a number of applicants to receive a full scholarship for Arts Edge Summer. The judging was led by 'Rock of Ages' star Constantine Maroulis and 'Memphis' headliner Chad Kimball.

After a successful two-night run at the Jazz Standard in January, The Stryker / Slagle Band decided to strike while the fire was hot and headed back up to bassist Jay Anderson's Mountain Rest Studio in New Paltz, NY to lay down nine new original tracks as well as a cover of Thelonious Monk's 'Ruby My Dear.' This is the 3rd CD by the same quartet: Dave Stryker (guitar), Steve Slagle (sax), Jay Anderson (bass), and Victor Lewis (drums), that released The Scene to critical success in 2008.
