Bob Boyett and NETworks Presentations announce casting for the Chicago area engagement of the National Tour of The Lincoln Center Theater Production of Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein's prize-winning musical SOUTH PACIFIC, directed by Bartlett Sher. The Tony Award-winning production will play the Rosemont Theatre for a limited one-week engagement Nov. 24 - 29, 2009.

Simon Hammerstein and Randy Weiner (founding partners of famed downtown hotspot The Box) announced today that self-proclaimed 'Queen of All Media' and frequent theater blogger Perez Hilton will make a special trip to New York City to host CBS Radio New York's exclusive, by-invitation-only preview party at the upcoming Halloween-themed nightclub, Purgatorio, to kick-off the 2009 Halloween season. The event will take place on Saturday, October 17 at 11:00 PM at Purgatorio's tri-level space in the heart of Times Square (268 W. 47th Street). The earlier timeslots on Saturday, October 17 (7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM) are still available for general sale and will not be affected by this private event.

EW.com is indicating that former Broadway babe Lauren Graham may be replacing Maura Tierny on the NBC series, Parenthood. Supposedly, Helen Hunt was slated for the part of single mom Sarah. According to EntertainmentWeekly.com, Graham recently met with Parenthood boss Jason Katims to discuss the role.

Hutchins Foster (Naked Will at Celebration Theatre) joins the cast of MOM'S THE WORD presented by A Schenk You Very Much Productions. The West Coast premiere of the award-winning play by Linda A. Carson, Jill Daum, Alison Kelly, Robin Nichol, Barbara Pollard and Deborah Williams marks the first time a male actor will portray a ‘mom.' Jerry London (Emmy Award-winning mini-series Shogun) directs this production written by moms about motherhood, pregnancy and childbirth from the good, the bad and the yucky. Performances run through November 8, 2009 at the El Portal Forum Theatre (5269 Lankershim Boulevard) in North Hollywood.

The Civilians have announced the premiere of a new interactive performance series, You Better Sit Down: Tales from My Parents' Divorce at Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn on November 12th, 13th, and 14th at 8pm. Created by Civilians actors Matthew Maher, Caitlin Miller, Jennifer Morris, and Robbie Sublett, director Anne Kauffman and dramaturg Janice Paran You Better Sit Down was developed from the actors' interviews with their own parents, exploring their parents' marriages and subsequent divorces. The actors will portray their parents in these live performances, retelling their stories in a unique theatrical event. The performances will also be captured in a high-definition, multi-camera shoot and edited into episodes for online release.

Due to public demand, extra performances of Susie McKenna and Steve Edis' adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, are to be scheduled throughout its run at the Arts Theatre.

The Lyric Theatre has announced its second season of performing arts programming at the community of Midtown in Palm Beach Gardens. The Lyric will present seven shows from December 2009 through March 2010 at The Borland Center Theater, located in Midtown.
