Intiman Theatre announces that, in response to audience demand and strong ticket sales, its American Cycle production of Robert E. Sherwood's Abe Lincoln in Illinois, directed by Sheila Daniels and featuring a cast of 19 actors, will extend beyond its scheduled closing and will now end its run on Thursday, November 19 at 7:30 pm-the anniversary of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.

On October 12th, the first new Michael Jackson song to emerge since the world mourned the loss of this musical icon will be released - a brand new single entitled 'This Is It.' The legendary Theatre of the Eighth Day from Poland will premiere Wormwood in New York City in a special two performance event on November 11 and November 12 at the Abrons Arts Center. The play was famously banned in 1985 for its frank depiction of life in Poland under Martial Law. Founded in 1964, Theatre of the Eighth Day was one of the most uncompromising theater groups in Communist Poland and remains so today. It made its US debut to critical acclaim at the MADE IN POLAND Festival in New York City in November 2008, where it presented its 2007 avant-garde docudrama, The Files, based on actual secret police reports between 1975 and 1983 on the Theatre's actors. Wormwood will also play Yale Rep November 5 - November 7.

The New Group's production of The Starry Messenger has welcomed new cast member Merwin Goldsmith, who has replaced Jonathan Hadary. The Kenneth Lonergan play stars Matthew Broderick and Catalina Sandino Moreno, and is now set to begin previews two days after the previously scheduled date on October 26 at Theatre Row.

Tony nominee Elisabeth Withers will join Stephen Beasley, Kwame Remy, and Serina Gin for Broadway Uptown, a new music series presented at Gospel Uptown on Monday, October 26 at 8pm.

LIVING FOR TODAY II is the second annual exciting concert featuring the best of Broadway to benefit the Gilana Shira Alpert Fund. The event will take place at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on October 25 at 9:30PM.

Natasha Rawson (stage name Natasha Dana), a three-time Broadway performer in Stars in Your Eyes, The Devil Knows, and Between the Devil, died at her home last week just 10 days shy of her 93rd birthday. She died of natural causes.

Actress Collin Wilcox, four-time Broadway star and cast member of the film 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' died of brain cancer at her home in Highlands, North Carolina last week. She was 74-years old.

AVENUE Q, the three-time Tony winning Broadway musical about real life in New York City, as told by a cast of people and puppets through a irreverent Tony-winning book and score, will make its Gainesville debut at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 10.
