Season. Adapted by Donald Harron from the novel by L. M. Montgomery, with music by Norman Campbell, this classic story recounts the poignant and funny story of Anne Shirley, the spunky, red-headed orphan who comes to Prince Edward Island hoping to find a happy home.
NaTasha Yvette Williams Leads ONE GIRL'S STORY Reading at Middle Collegiate Church, 10/28October 26, 2009A staged reading of This One Girl's Story will be presented on October 28th, 2009 at Middle Collegiate Church in New York City. This new musical, inspired by the life of Sakia Gunn (1988-2003), is described as the story of 'One girl on the way to being a woman ... and her friends... live, laugh, love and remember the time... the one night when they could be exactly who they were... before someone decided they couldn't.' The reading will begin at 7pm.
Hogan & Holgate Return to HEROES at Merrimack Repertory Theatre, 11/19 - 12/13October 26, 2009After a successful run this past winter with the Keen Company at the Clurman Theater / Theater Row, Jonathan Hogan and Ron Holgate will reprise their roles in Heroes, by Gerald Sibleyras with a translation by Tom Stoppard and directed by Carl Forsman with the Merrimack Repertory Theatre Company. They will be joined by Ken Tigar, who will be playing the role previously performed by Broadway vet John Cullum in the Theater Row premiere. The production at the Merrick Theatre will run from November 19 through December 13.
Theatricum Botanicum Supports New Plays with 'Botanicum Seedlings' Series, 11/15 & 11/22October 26, 2009With the 2009 Summer Classical Repertory Season at a close, The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum broadens its scope to focus on activities such as its year-round educational programs and ongoing development series for playwrights, 'Botanicum Seedlings.' 'SYTYCD's' Mary Murphy Makes Broadway Debut in BURN THE FLOOR One Night Only, 12/22October 26, 2009The producers of Broadway's hottest hit announced today that Mary Murphy of FOX's 'So You Think You Can Dance' will make her Broadway debut for one night only on Tuesday, December 22nd at 7 PM, when she 'quicksteps' into the BURN THE FLOOR company at the Longacre Theatre. She will join the dance juggernaut that has taken Broadway by storm, breaking box office records and extending its limited engagement. The show, originally announced for a 12 week engagement, has been extended through January 3 2010. Mary Murphy will be partnered with ballroom champion Vaidas Skimelis.
New Performing Arts School Comedy Series 'Victorious' a GoOctober 26, 2009Nickelodeon has announced that they will partner with Columbia/Epic Label Group (a label group of Sony Music Entertainment) to co-produce Victorious, an original new live-action comedy series from prolific creator and executive producer Dan Schneider (iCarly, Zoey 101, Drake & Josh) and featuring teen star Victoria Justice (Zoey 101, Spectacular!). Twenty episodes have been ordered of the half-hour comedy series, which is set in a modern day Hollywood school for the performing arts and features an ensemble cast of teens who act, sing, dance and perform original music. The series, set to premiere in 2010, is currently being produced in Los Angeles, CA.
