TV EXCLUSIVE: Encores! MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG - Performance Highlights!February 8, 2012Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, the first New York City Center Encores! production of the season, opens tonight, February 8 at New York City Center, and features Colin Donnell, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Elizabeth Stanley, Betsy Wolfe and Adam Grupper. Merrily We Roll Along, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth, is directed by James Lapine with music direction by Rob Berman and musical staging by Dan Knechtges. Merrily has been extended for a two-week run and will play for 15 performances, February 8-19, 2012.

The show will now be preserved amongst the Broadway classics at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center Plaza.
Christina Ricci & Bebe Neuwirth Lead CSC's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM this Spring!February 8, 2012Classic Stage Company has announced complete casting for their upcoming production of Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, which begins previews at CSC on Wednesday, April 4 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 20. Joining two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth (Hippolyta/Titania) and acclaimed film/television/stage star Christina Ricci (Hermia) in the cast are Jordan Dean (Demetrius), Nick Gehlfuss (Lysander), David Greenspan (Flute/Fairy), Halley Wegryn Gross (Helena), Anthony Heald (Theseus/Oberon), Erin Hill (Starveling/Fairy), Chad Lindsey (Snout/Fairy), Taylor Mac (Egeus/Puck), James Patrick Nelson (Snug/Fairy), Steven Skybell (Bottom) and Rob Yang (Quince/Fairy). Directed by Tony Speciale (Unnatural Acts), A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM has its official opening Sunday, April 29.

AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY Film Starring Meryl Streep & Julia Roberts Gets the Green Light; Filming to Begin in September?February 2, 2012
As BroadwayWorld reported back in 2010, Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep have been in talks to star in the film adaptation of Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize and Tony-winning play, August: Osage County. Producers at the Weinstein Company, which is developing the project alongside the show's producer Jean Dourmanian, had been hopeful to begin filming in the summer of 2011, however the project was sidelined for what was believed to be scheduling conflicts. Not much has been mentioned on its progress since.
Roundabout's LOOK BACK IN ANGER Opens Tonight, 2/2February 2, 2012Tonight, February 2, is the official opening of Roundabout Theatre Company's new production of John Osborne's Look Back in Anger, directed by Roundabout Associate Artist Sam Gold. The cast features Adam Driver as "Cliff," Sarah Goldberg as "Allison," Charlotte Parry as "Helena," and Matthew Rhys as "Jimmy".

As part of the show's makeover, the show's original songwriters, Michael Gore and Dean Pitchford have written some new tunes, and scrapped some of the old. From the looks of it, it seems audiences can expect as much of a new score by almost half!

This is Mr. Weiss' eighth DGA nomination and third win.
