Universal Acquires Rights to Hanks-Directed 'Larry Crowne'February 10, 2010Two of the biggest names in Hollywood, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, are teaming up again for the upcoming film 'Larry Crowne.' Hanks, who has written the script, will also direct the film. This will be his first directing stint in over a decade (he directed 'That Thing You Do' in 1996). The plot for 'Larry Crowne' involves a middle-aged man who is forced to find a new career.
Celine Dion Returns to Caesars Palace for 3-Year Run Beginning Mar. 2011February 10, 2010Contact Music has revealed that songbird Celine Dion will be stepping into the three-year contract at Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace that had been offered to - and turned down by - Barbra Streisand, as BroadwayWorld reported yesterday. While Streisand was reportedly offered $100 million, Dion's figure has not been reported, although it is believed to be comparable.

Reportedly, Las Vegas promoters who have worked with Cher, Celine Dion, Bette Midler and others had approached Streisand with the $100 million, three-year contract offer. No one has since been able to replicate Celine Dion's success at Caesar's Palace, and many promoters believe that Streisand is the only sure thing to pack houses for an extended run.
