L.A.-based rock band Carney set out on tour this summer in support of their eagerly awaited debut album Mr. Green Vol. 1 out May 11th on DAS Label/Interscope. Carney also headlined a special album release show on May 15th at LA's El Rey Theatre before embarking on a cross-country tour supporting UK songsmiths, Athlete, kicking off May 31st at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ.

Liza Minnelli will release her newest album, Confessions, on September 21, 2010 out by Decca. Today, the show biz icon has released her track list!

An ABC rep as confirmed to TV Guide.com that Vanessa Williams will join the cast of Desperate Housewives as a series regular next season. Like thier Gypsy counterparts, LuPone has reportedly signed on to star as Benanti's tough-loving mother in the new CBS pilot, Open Books, to which Benanti has been long attached.

Deadline.com has just revealed that RED star Alfred Molina will be teaming up with Twilight's Taylor Lautner for the upcoming Abduction film. In the Lionsgate feature, a young man (Lautner) discovers that he was kidnapped as a child and sets out to find his birth parents. Chaos and danger ensue. Molina will star as the CIA agent who assists Lautner in finding his kin alive.

RED, currently playing at The Golden Theatre on Broadway and starring Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne, will dedicate a special 7:00pm performance on June 20,2010 to The Actors Fund, granting proceeds to the fund in support of their programs and services.

New clips for the upcoming 'Sex and the City 2' have been released today, in anticipation of the film's May 27th opening. Warner Bros. and New Line are presenting the the sequel, which reteams director-writer Michael Patrick King with his four leading ladies--Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. John Melfi will return to produce with King and Parker.

Tony nominated Best Play TIME STANDS STILL will resume performances on Broadway at the Cort Theatre on September 23, 2010. The production will re-open on Thursday, October 7. The play is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies and is directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.

Weekend Movie Box Office Update: May 14 - May 17, 2010

In the center of the New York City Theater District, acclaimed Broadway set designer Christine Jones publicly debuts 'Theatre for One', a four foot by nine foot portable theater with one performer playing to one audience member. The uniquely intimate theatrical experience will be available to anyone on a first-come, first-served basis between May 14 and 23, 2010 in Times Square.

Billy Elliot on Broadway will play a new performance schedule beginning May 31, 2010: Wednesday - Saturday at 8pm, Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm, Sunday at 2pm and 7:30pm. In addition, there will be special holiday schedules for July 4th weekend and Labor Day weekend, with information available at www.telecharge.com.
