Nichols, who directed Broadway's Tony-winning Spamalot, among others, is one of only twelve people to have won an EGOT, all the major American entertainment awards: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. In 2001, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts.

Alison Steadman to Lead BLITHE SPIRIT in West End; Opens March 2011June 11, 2010Baz Bamigboye reports in the London Daily Mail today that Alison Steadman has signed on to lead the cast of BLITHE SPIRIT as 'Madame Arcati' in the West End. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin sometime in late September and open at the Theatre Royal in Bath on November 3, 2010 for a limited run. Thereafter, Bamigboye reports, the show will tour the U.K. briefly before landing at the Apollo Theatre in the West End on March 2, 2011.

Where the statue used to be 3 1/4 inches tall, weighing in at a 1 1/2 pounds, this year's prize is larger by almost double: standing 5 inches high and weighing 3 1/2 pounds.

STAGE TUBE: Disney Releases Murphy-Voiced 'Tangled' TrailerJune 10, 2010The new Disney animated film, 'Tangled' has just released its official trailer for the November movie. The movie is a retelling of the classic fairytale, Rapunzel. Actors involved include Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi, Tony award winner Donna Murphy, Ewan McGregor and Steve Martin. Songs are composed by legendary composer and lyricist, Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. 'Tangled' will be the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, planned for release on November 24, 2010.
Tony Nominee David Bologna Returns to BILLY ELLOT as 'Michael,' 6/16 - 8/8June 10, 2010Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today that David Bologna will return to the cast of BILLY ELLIOT in the role of ‘Michael,' Billy's best friend.
