Yesterday, June 13, E! Entertainment Televisions' Holly's World celebrated it's premiere with a viewing party at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas. Holly Madison, a former Girl Next Door, stars in Holly's World, a new E! reality show about her new life in Las Vegas post-the Playboy mansion. Baz Bamigboye reports in the U.K. Daily Mail today that Estelle Parsons will join Jonathan Groff and Simon Russell Beale in the West End production of DEATHTRAP this fall. The role of the 'eccentric Dutch psychic' was orginally to be played by Anna Massey, however she recently withdrew from the project for personal reasons.

As BroadwayWorld reporter Tim Shawver first reported on June, 8, Lin-Manuel Miranda will be joing the IN THE HEIGHTS tour early, playing Tempe's Gammage Auditorium in Arizona June 15 - 20. Miranda was originally scheduled to join the tour in Los Angeles following the Arizona run.

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the 12th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adopt-a-thon benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is sponsored by the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) and Pedigree® Food for Dogs with additional sponsorship by the New York Times. The event will take place on Saturday, July 10th in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters will take place between 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

On Thursday, June 10, the AFI honored Mike Nichols with their Life Achievement Award at Sony Studios in Los Angeles, CA. Nichols, who directed Broadway's Tony-winning Spamalot, among others, is one of only twelve people to have won an EGOT, all the major American entertainment awards: an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. In 2001, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts.

Inspired by friend Eddie Redmayne, whom she saw perform in RED at the Donmar Warehouse (Redmayne is now performing in RED on Broadway), Stewart told 'Vogue' magazine of the challenge: 'Unlike movie acting, you have to deliver the whole performance there and then. You live it every night.'

Baz Bamigboye reports in the London Daily Mail today that Alison Steadman has signed on to lead the cast of BLITHE SPIRIT as 'Madame Arcati' in the West End. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin sometime in late September and open at the Theatre Royal in Bath on November 3, 2010 for a limited run. Thereafter, Bamigboye reports, the show will tour the U.K. briefly before landing at the Apollo Theatre in the West End on March 2, 2011.

The New York Times reports today that the Tony Award statuette has grown up for 2010. Where the statue used to be 3 1/4 inches tall, weighing in at a 1 1/2 pounds, this year's prize is larger by almost double: standing 5 inches high and weighing 3 1/2 pounds.

THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, directed by Daniel Sullivan, will begin performances for Shakespeare in the Park on Saturday, June 12. The Public Theater begins Shakespeare in the Park performances tonight, June 9, with the first preview of THE WINTER'S TALE, directed by Michael Greif (yesterday's scheduled opening was cancelled due to the rain). The new Disney animated film, 'Tangled' has just released its official trailer for the November movie. The movie is a retelling of the classic fairytale, Rapunzel. Actors involved include Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Zachary Levi, Tony award winner Donna Murphy, Ewan McGregor and Steve Martin. Songs are composed by legendary composer and lyricist, Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. 'Tangled' will be the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, planned for release on November 24, 2010.

Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today that David Bologna will return to the cast of BILLY ELLIOT in the role of ‘Michael,' Billy's best friend. Bologna received a 2009 Tony nomination for his performance as ‘Michael.' He is scheduled to begin performances on Wednesday, June 16th and will play his final performance on Sunday, August 8th.
