On Friday, October 30, the national touring company of IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS met the press and performed numbers from the show. Rehearsals just began for the New York premiere of the Playwrights Horizons and production of MARJORIE PRIME, a new play byJordan Harrison, directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman. A Playwrights Horizons Commission, MARJORIE PRIME was a 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist and is the third production of Playwrights Horizons' 2015/2016 Season.

The sold-out benefit evening of 'BRIDGING THE GAP AND OTHER SHORT PLAYS BY WESLEY TAYLOR' -- an evening of readings of a collection of six new short plays by actor and playwright WESLEY TAYLOR to benefit The Actors Fund -- was just last night, October 26, at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

The world premiere musical First Daughter Suite, written by Michael John LaChiusa, and debuting at The Public Theater, directed by Kirsten Sanderson, runs now through Sunday, November 15, the show just opened last night and BroadwayWorld was there. Check out photos from the festivities below!

The new Broadway production of D.L. Coburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, The Gin Game, starring Tony Award winners James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson, opened last night, October 14 at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). Roundabout Theatre Company presents the Roundabout Underground world-premiere production of Ugly Lies the Bone by Lindsey Ferrentino, directed by Patricia McGregor, as part of the 50th Anniversary Season. The cast features Karron Graves (Kacie), Mamie Gummer (Jess), Caitlin O'Connell (Voice / Their Mom), Chris Stack (Stevie) and Haynes Thigpen (Kelvin). Roundabout welcomes back Mamie Gummer, who made her New York stage debut in Roundabout's 2005 production of Mr. Marmalade. The world premiere of Ugly Lies the Bone opened off-Broadway last night, October 13, 2015 at the Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This is a limited engagement through Sunday, November 22, 2015.

The Public Theater presents the world premiere of Barbecue, written by Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara. Directed by Kent Gash,Barbecue began previews on September 22 and runs through Sunday, November 1, with an official press opening tonight, October 8. Broadway rockers Justin Guarini, Deborah Cox, Alex Brightman, and Tony Vincent, all took part in Clear Channel Spectacolor's annual CELEBRITY KARAOKE: AN EPIC EVENING WITH THE STARS last night, October 5. Hosted and co-produced by Guarini, CELEBRITY KARAOKE kicked off New York Comic Con's New York Super Week and gave fans the opportunity to perform with a live karaoke band alongside Broadway's brightest stars. Beginning Saturday, October 3, 2015, That Bachelorette Show, off-Broadway's biggest dance party and spoof of ABC's 'The Bachelorette,' welcomes actor and reality starVinny Guadagnino of MTV's 'Jersey Shore.' He'll play Giovanni Giovanni, ex-boyfriend and hopeful suitor of the titular bachelorette. Guadagnino joins a cast led by former Miss New York USA and Fox New's 'Red Eye' panelist Joanne Nosuchinsky as bachelorette Adriana Orlando.

Broadway's Allegiance, a new musical inspired by Takei's true-life story, opens on November 8, 2015 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). Previews begin October 6. It features a book by Marc Acito and music and lyrics by Jay Kuo. Olivier Award nominee Stafford Arima (London's Ragtime, Off-Broadway's Bare, Carrie, Altar Boyz) directs.  MATILDA just celebrated its 1000th performance with who else, but creator Tim Minchin, for a special conversation at New World Stages. Just last night, The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey presented Tony Award winning playwright, performer and activist Eve Ensler with the Absolute Brightness Award. The award, previously awarded to LGBT civil rights hero Edie Windsor and Tony Award Winner and activist Alan Cumming, is given to a unique individual who is a shining beacon in their community, and an inspiration to live as your truest self. 

Rehearsals have just begun for the Playwrights Horizons New York premiere production of HIR, a new play by Obie Award winner Taylor Mac, directed by Niegel Smith.  The play is the second production of Playwrights Horizons' 2015/2016 Season. Previews begin Friday, October 16 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater.  Opening Night is set for Sunday, November 8 with a limited engagement through Sunday, November 29. 

The national tour of the new musical comedy BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, written by Woody Allen and based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath (Beautiful) for the 1994 film, will launch in Cleveland, OH at Playhouse Square with performances beginning October 6, 2015. Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine: A Benefit Concert for Viva Broadway took place last night, September 14th at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan. They returned to New York City to perform a special concert comprising their greatest hits including: 'Get On Your Feet,' 'Conga,' 'Rhythm is Gonna Get You,' 'Mi Tierra,' and more! DAMES AT SEA will set sail at Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44 Street), beginning performances Thursday, September 24, 2015, with an opening night of Thursday, October 22, 2015.
