Jennifer Broski

Born and raised in Maine, she fell in love with the city while still in high school. After a year at Marymount Manhattan College, she returned home to finish her education (go Black Bears!), though she left a piece of her heart here. She spent a few years in Northampton, MA, before finally returning to the city she loved. She’s worn many hats—writer, bookseller, merch girl, and more—but  photographer is her favorite. She’s been shooting for BWW since 2011, but has been holding a camera for as long as she can remember. In her down time, you’ll find her digging at a record store (tracking down every bit of Tori Amos music and memorabilia she can find), baking, or checking up on feral cats nearby. And she’s still a big kid who loves all things Muppet. She swears she’ll finish her novel someday.

The New York Civil Liberties Union, the New York State affiliate of the ACLU, just welcomed a star-studded lineup for its annual benefit concert. 'Broadway Stands Up for Freedom,' a celebratory event in honor of the recent Supreme Court victory for the freedom to marry, boasted performances by some of Broadway's finest last night at the NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place).

Perez (Recent Tragic Events, American Splendor), DeLanna Studi (August: Osage County, Edge of America), and Myra Lucretia Taylor (Nine, 'Girls') in Primary Stages and Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Project's upcoming production, Informed Consent. The New York City premiere by Deborah Zoe Laufer (End Days, Leveling Up) and directed by Obie winner Liesl Tommy(Appropriate, The Good Negro) will play a limited engagement August 4 - September 13, 2015 at Primary Stages at The Duke on 42nd Street - a New 42nd Street project. Opening night is Tuesday, August 18 at 7PM.

This one-of-a-kind-event was hosted by two-time Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris, currently on Broadway in this year's Best Musical Fun Home at Circle in the Square. The coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor on Monday, June 29 at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre, was presented to Marla Louissaint representing The Gershwin Awards and Anthony Skillman, representing the M.A.C.Y.
