Second Stage Theatre will soon present the world premiere production of Greg Pierce's play, Cardinal, directed by Kate Whoriskey. Cardinal will begin previews Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street) and will officially open on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

Manhattan Theatre Club's American premiere of The Royal Court Theatre's production of The Children, the new play by Olivier Award winner Lucy Kirkwood (Chimerica), directed by James MacDonald (Top Girls at MTC), opened just last night, December 12, at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Eva Price and Sucker Love Productions have announced that, due to popular demand, CRUEL INTENTIONS - the new musical nightlife experience based on Roger Kumble's 1999 cult-hit film - has added a three-week extension to its New York Premiere engagement. The musical, which opens tonight, December 11th, at downtown hotspot (le) Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street), will now play through Monday, February 19, 2018.

Just yesterday, the cast and creative team of Dear Evan Hansen marked one year on Broadway with a celebratory curtain call and a special Proclamation from the City of New York, in front of an audience full of fans who won a lottery to attend the performance for free. Broadway shined brighter last night with the arrival of Meteor Shower, which officially opened at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45th St.). The Fred Ebb Foundation, in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company, just presented the 13th annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Shaina Taub.

Playwrights Horizons will present Mankind, the world premiere of a new play written and directed by two-time Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (Bootycandy, Bella: An American Tall Tale at Playwrights; Barbecue, In the Continuum, The Brother/Sister Plays).
