Rock Paper Scissors announced January concerts in NYC. First, the 9th annual globalFEST featuring 12 artists in one day at Webster Hall will be on Jan.8. Then later on the 27th, TriBeCaStan will be making a Joe's Pub appearance in conjunction with their CD release.

Comedy acts all over the country are getting their acceptances for the 12th Annual North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival. This year, those acts will gather in the Triangle for three weeks of comedy throughout Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham. The Show Goes On Productions in collaboration with R.Evolución Latina presents a talk-back series on the topic of 'Revolution' to be held following the 8pm performances of Ghost Dancer on Thursdays, December 1st and December 8th. Panelists for the December 1st 'What Is Revolution?' talk-back will include: Luis Salgado, Founder/Director of R.Evolución Latina and 'Ghost Dancer' Cast Member; Reza Salazar,'Ghost Dancer' Cast Member; Maria Torres, Choreographer and performer in the Broadway show 'Swing'; Gabriela Garcia, former 'Chicago' Dance Captain; and Carlos Serrano, Playwright and Member of the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre. Immediate Medium returns to Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center during the 2012 APAP Conference with The Assassins Chase Pinocchio, an experimental multimedia adaptation of Carlo Collodi's original 1883 coming-of-age tale, The Adventures of Pinocchio. Featuring a 20-foot shark's mouth created using only a video camera and a zipper, an anarchic children's dance party on the Island of Crazy Sweet Candy Chaos, and a psychedelic soundtrack by indie rockers Alex Bleeker of Real Estate (Best Albums of October 2011, BBC Music) and G. Lucas Crane of Woods (Best New Music, Pitchfork), the show uses a playful mix of physical comedy and experimental theater techniques to introduce Immediate Medium's interdisciplinary aesthetic to a new, yet very avant-garde audience: children. Performances will take place at Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center, 107 Suffolk Street, New York, N.Y., on Friday, January 6 at 7:00pm, and Saturday, January 7 and Sunday, January 8 at 2pm and 5pm. There are two ways to celebrate the holidays at DSI Comedy Theater this year. This year, the theatre is welcoming audiences into the theatre for Home for the Holidays, an improvised comedy show and a Holiday Sketchtravaganza, a series of holiday related comic sketches.
