Chicago Shakespeare Theater Announces Extension of MURDER FOR TWO-A KILLER MUSICAL Through November 27October 5, 2011Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today that its celebrated premiere comedy Murder for Two-A Killer Musical will be extended into its sixth month through November 27, 2011, Upstairs at Chicago Shakespeare. Nominated for four Joseph Jefferson Awards, including Best New Work-Musical or Revue, this 90-minute Agatha Christie-like whodunit musical comes with a surprising twist: one actor plays the inspector, the other plays all 10 suspects, and both play the piano. Created by Joe Kinosian (music/book) and Kellen Blair (lyrics/book), Murder for Two-A Killer Musical currently features Kinosian as the slew of hilarious would-be criminals. Beginning on October 19, Adam Overett will take over for Alan Schmuckler in the role of Officer Marcus Moscowicz.
SkyPilot Theatre Company Presents the West Coast Premiere of 4 MURDERS, Opens Oct. 15October 5, 2011The West Coast Premiere of Brett Neveu's dark dramedy 4 MURDERS offers an examination of urban isolation and the convenient yet tragic cure for such loneliness. It is a surreal discussion of images, impressions and ideas that poke through the clutter of the day-to-day. The normalcy of eating dinner, drinking tea, waiting for a bus or falling to sleep is interrupted by thoughts of mortality, and 4 MURDERS seeks to embody and physically articulate those thoughts. If the darkness itself were physically able to converse, those conversations would be much like what is heard in 4 MURDERS; for once we begin to speak to the darkness, our biggest fear is that the darkness may just speak back.
