Roscommon Arts Centre will present Norah McGuinness: Illustrations to the Stories of Red Hanrahan from the 15th of March to the 26th of April, 2012.

The 20 year old New Perspectives Theatre Company and 30 year old NY Artists Unlimited have joined forces to present ISAIAH'S DREAM: A Parade of Poets on Saturdays & Sundays, March 17 & 18 and March 24 & 25 at 2 p.m. at New Perspectives Theatre, 456 W. 37 St., ground floor. They will be Pay-What-You-Want performances. Following the mid-town premiere, the play goes on a tour of libraries, community centers, and schools throughout the boroughs.

On Sunday, March 11, as part of the Fukushima anniversary initiative Shinsai: Theaters for Japan, Scandinavian American Theater Company and Ping Chong & Company will co-present a reading of a play written in response to the disaster: Swedish playwright Jacob Hirdwall's Emperor Fukushima. The reading will take place at 7:00 P.M. at La MaMa (47 Great Jones Street). Admission requires a $10 donation at the door; the Japan Playwrights Association will disburse proceeds to the Japanese theater community affected by the disaster.

The Jewish Museum, in conjunction with the opening of its exhibition, Kehinde Wiley/The World Stage: Israel, is trying something new. Its advertising agency, Our Man In Havana (OMIH), has conceived and is overseeing a hand-painted reproduction of a Kehinde Wiley painting as a giant wallscape on the northeast corner of Houston Street and Mott Street in Manhattan. A video documenting the installation will also be created and released online to generate additional awareness for the exhibition.
