Boston College Announced Bollywood A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM for April 26-29 - Directed by Luke Jorgensen

The Boston College Theatre Department concludes its year-long celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Robsham Theater Arts Center with an exciting new production of William Shakespeare's classic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Directed by BC Adjunct Associate Professor of Theatre Luke Jorgensen, the production takes inspiration from the romance and spectacle of Bollywood movies, and shifts the action from Shakespeare's mythical Athens to an equally mythical colonial India--complete with fairies inspired by Indian deities, elaborate costumes, and big Bollywood dance sequences. Performances will take place on Robsham's Mainstage April 26-29, 2012 as part of the 14th annual Boston College Arts Festival.

Two 120-minute performances will take place outdoors in Scottsdale Civic Center Park on each day at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Admission is free and tickets are not required. West End Eurovision will be held on Thursday 26th April at The Dominion Theatre in London's West End, with no fewer than ten West End show casts performing fully costumed and choreographed versions of Eurovision Song Contest numbers. Audience members will be treated to unique, fully staged Eurovision entries performed by the London West End casts of: Billy Elliot, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia!, Phantom of the Opera, Rock of Ages, Shrek, Sweeney Todd, The 39 Steps, The Wizard of Oz and Wicked. In addition, there will be a one off extravaganza of a performance by international recording artist and television personality Javine Hylton as she reprises her 2005 UK entry 'Touch My Fire'.

Edward Hall's Hampstead Theatre production of Chariots of Fire will transfer to the Gielgud Theatre from 22 June 2012, following its run at the North London venue. Award-winning playwright Mike Bartlett's new adaptation, inspired by Colin Welland's original screenplay, is now booking in the West End until 10 November 2012.
