Theatre Downtown will present the Central Floriday premiere of Tracy Letts' Tony-winning play August: Osage County. The production, directed by Frank Hilgenberg, will play weekends from Mar. 4th through Mar. 27th.

Last night, Run of the Mill Theater unveiled its latest production, RUR: Reboot, a world premiere adaptation by Debbie Harbin of the 1923 classic RUR (Rossum's Universal Robots). This play continues through Sunday, Feb. 27 and coincides with the readings of the Variations on Chaos submissions on Sunday, Feb. 20.

Legendary rock star Bret Michaels and the leading media and event company in the endurance sports industry, Competitor Group, have announced plans to join forces at four Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series events in 2011, beginning Sunday, March 27 at the Rock 'n' Roll Dallas Half Marathon benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Other shows are scheduled for Philadelphia (Sept. 18), Los Angeles (Oct. 30) and a fourth city yet to be announced.

Manhattan Movement & Arts Center presents The Playground, a workshop series for professional dancers from Monday, February 28, 2011 through Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center at 248 W. 60th Street, NYC (between Amsterdam and West End Avenues) in the Lincoln Center area. The second new musical in Village Theatre's 5-show season is the outrageous commie-dy, Iron Curtain, directed by Steve Tomkins, named one of Seattle Magazine's 'Most Influential of 2010.' From the writing team who brought the 2007 production of Once Upon a Time in New Jersey to the Mainstage, the new musical Iron Curtain is chock-full of talent, and some of Seattle's funniest, funny people are set to appear.

Westport Country Playhouse will host its second annual open house, "Playhouse Community Day," on Saturday, March 19, 1 to 5 p.m., offering a wide variety of family activities, backstage tours, displays and historic artifacts, insight on the upcoming 2011 season and ticket discounts throughout the afternoon. Hungarian Echoes: A Philharmonic Festival conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, will take place March 10-26, 2011. Program III, which will be performed Friday and Saturday, March 18-19, 2011, at 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m., will feature Bartok's opera, Bluebeard's Castle, starring mezzo-soprano Michelle De Young, bass Gabor Bretz - making his New York Philharmonic debut - and actress Marthe Keller, who will recite the Bard's Poem at the beginning of the work. The program opens with Ligeti's Concert Romanesc and Haydn's Symphony No. 7, Le Midi.

The Civilians (Steven Cosson, Artistic Director), the award-winning New York-based theatre company known for projects investigating real life topics, presents Let Me Ascertain You: Pretty Filthy, a one-night-only cabaret performance at Joe's Pub on March 4, 2011 at 9:30 PM. Back by popular demand after sold-out evenings in both NY and LA, the March cabaret offers even more enticing interviews from the company's unique exploration into the adult entertainment industry. Shenanigans is about a local farmer who steals a leprechaun's bucket of gold and the leprechaun who trades three wishes to get it back.

Jim Burge and The Jazz Directions are back this month to keep the passion of Valentine's Day alive through music at the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Every song in this month's Jazz with Jim program will have "Love" in the title.

The Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting the New York Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps rehearsals this winter in Queens. The corps performs at exhibitions, and parades throughout the year and its field corps competes during the summer months throughout the northeastern states in the Drum Corps Associates competition circuit.

The third New York Philharmonic Young People's Concert (YPC) of the 2010-11 season will take place Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., led by Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Daniel Boico. The concert will focus on the Romantic era as part of the season's theme, "The Ages of Music," which explores the four major periods of orchestral music. Philharmonic Director of Education Theodore Wiprud is the host of the series, designed for youngsters 6 to 12 years of age, with programs written and directed by Tom Dulack. This concert will feature violinist Erno Kallai - one of four young violinists who are appearing as soloists on the YPCs this season - and actors Adam Alexander and Alesia Lawson.
