FREUD'S LAST SESSION Hosts Socrates In The City, 2/13February 11, 2011The first Socrates in the City event of 2011 will be a performance of the hit play FREUD'S LAST SESSION, by Mark St. Germain, this Sunday, February 13th at 7pm. There will be a pre-show reception at 6:15. As soon as this special evening was announced, all 145 tickets sold out within 24 hours. Little Opera House Presents Jazz Version Of THE CORONATION OF POPPEA, Begins 4/5February 11, 2011One of the earliest operas, written in the 1640s, Monteverdi's The Coronation of Poppea, is to get a fresh treatment by Mark Ravenhill and Alex Silverman, with a new jazz-inspired orchestration, and featuring a cast of exciting singing talents. It will premiere as part of the Little Opera House's first ever repertory season, with 10 performances from Tuesday April 5 to Thursday May 19.

The mission of the festival is to promote and present the significant contributions of women in music through performance, education, and advocacy. The weeklong celebration includes concerts, master classes, lectures and presentations. Festival goers will have the opportunity to hear the work of some of music's notable composers such as Tania Leon and Lili Boulanger, as well as the world premiere of Exultet Terra, a commissioned piece by Eastman composer-in-residence Hilary Tann.
