Chip's Chocolate Factory, one of the most longstanding and visited shops at Crown Center, has signed a deal to remain at the shopping center for the next seven years. Mike Herman owns the store on Level 2 of the Crown Center Shops. It originated at Crown Center as Kansas City Fudge in 1983 and is well known for its marble tables, copper kettles and daily fudge-making displays. The store is scheduled to get some national attention later this month, when it's featured on Food Network's 'Kid in a Candy Store' program.

These meetings, broadcast live nationwide in front of a local audience, focus on the broad topic of the 'Disappearing Black Community and How We Can Get it Back.' An open and honest dialogue on this subject is well within The Center?s mission and strategic thrust to work concentrically (from local to regional to national and international) and collaboratively to preserve, present, interpret celebrate and shape the art, culture and history of African Americans.
