In light of recent tragedies in Japan, Catalyst Ranch (Chicago's premiere unique meeting and event space) in association with Porchlight Music Theatre (Chicago's premiere music theatre) brings together some of the best talent from the Chicago theatre scene for a ONE NIGHT ONLY cabaret to benefit Japanese disaster relief funds. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago in their efforts to support Japan in this time of need.

Jazz/swing/cabaret singer Isabel Rose performs at one of New York's premiere jazz clubs, the Blue Note, on April 11th. Rose joined a band that will include Tedd Firth on keys, Martin Wind on bass, Warren Odze on drums, Bernd Schoenhart on guitar, Roger Squitero on percussion, Mike Davis on trombone, Aaron Heick on sax, and C.J. One of the world's foremost collections of decorated Jewish marriage contracts (ketubbot) is held by The Library of The Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City. Thirty of the finest will be on display at The Jewish Museum in The Art of Matrimony: Thirty Splendid Marriage Contracts from The Jewish Theological Seminary Library from March 11 through June 26, 2011. From one of the earliest known decorated pieces (twelfth century) to recent creations, these exquisite marriage contracts provide a wealth of information on the artistic creativity, cultural interactions, and social history of the communities in which they were created. Ketubbot, which typically record the bridegroom's obligations to his bride in case of death or divorce, have been integral to Jewish marriage for millennia. They were kept in the homes of married Jews living in the West under Christian governance or in the East under Muslim rule

On Saturday, April 16th at 8PM at New York City's Highline Ballroom, Dirty Martini and the New Burlesque, Gary Beeber's seductive and entertaining documentary about the New York City burlesque scene and contemporary nightlife culture, will get a special screening followed by live burlesque performances from Dirty Martini herself and several of the film's featured performers.
