Yesterday,  I attended the BEA Adult Buzz Panel and walked out with the six nominated titles hyped to be a BIG DEAL when they debut!!

How far would you go to protect what's most important in your life? That's the question at the heart of Lisa Gardner's LOVE YOU MORE. I've never read anything by Gardner before, but the novel's synopsis caught my attention right away:

If you thought THE OUTLIERS by Kimberly McCreight, which I reviewed earlier this week, was trippy and out-there, just wait until you get your hands on the brand-new sequel, THE SCATTERING. There are finally ANSWERS to a lot of questions we had at the beginning of the first book, so readers won't be desperately trying to piece together what's going on. There are also a lot of new questions arising, too, ones that will be answered next spring when the final book releases.

THE OUTLIERS does a good job throwing readers into the mystery alongside Wylie. There is some messed up stuff going on, and she's in WAY over her head. The book also starts to answer a few questions--while at the same time handing readers even MORE questions. Do we have true answers at the end of book one? Do we have more lies due to the multiple webs of deceit still clinging to the pages? Who can we trust? We don't know, and neither does Wylie!

Scott Westerfeld is the New York Times Best Selling Author of several YA novels, including the popular Uglies series. All of his books are wildly different from one another, yet all have a slant of sci-fi and the unexplainable in them. His new release, SPILL ZONE, is unique in many ways.

Gregory Maguire, best known for WICKED: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which was turned into the best-selling Broadway musical Wicked, has struck gold again. Maguire has made a career out of fractured fairy tales, spinning new versions of tales from Lewis Carroll to Hans Christian Andersen to Charles Dickens. This coming fall, he has his eyes set on E.T.A. The cover and summary were just revealed, and Broadway World is on the scene to give you an inside look at this hot fall release!

Anything about Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler is still super hot thanks to the success of the smash Broadway musical Hamilton. When word dropped that New York Times Best Selling Author Melissa de la Cruz was coming out with ALEX & ELIZA, a historical fiction novel that explored the duo's relationship before they were married, people freaked. When the cover was revealed, the excitement was fueled even further because the cover used a silhouette profiled the mirrored the silhouette approach the musical uses in all of its advertising. When the book released last month, it immediately debuted at #2 on the New York Times Best Sellers List.

The Roald Dahl Imaginormous Challenge is unlike anything else. It's geared towards ages 5-12 and the idea is to get kids to think of a story they would love to write. Any story! Ex: A mermaid who meets a kangaroo and they go to Montana together.

Paige Townsen is living the dream. She's been plucked out of obscurity and thrust into Hollywood the moment she's cast as August in the upcoming blockbuster movie LOCKED. New York Times Best Selling Author Melissa de la Cruz has just released her latest novel, ALEX & ELIZA--which debuted this week at #2 on the New York Times Best Sellers List! The novel is a historical fiction retelling centered around Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler, so of course, Broadway World had to sit down to chat about this exciting new release!

This past fall, Disney Hyperion announced a new imprint, Rick Riordan Presents, to debut in 2018. Riordan was to be curator and find authors whose books featured myths and lore that would appeal to his fans, especially since sometimes, he didn't know much about the culture himself. The first three authors to debut in the new, widely diverse line were announced this week. All three books will debut in 2018, beginning on April 3, 2018 with ARU SHAH AND THE END OF TIME by Roshani Chokshi (THE STAR-TOUCHED QUEEN), followed by two releases on September 18, 2018, STORM RUNNER by Jennifer Cervantes (TORTILLA SUN) and DRAGON PEARL by Hugo and Nebula Award nominee Yoon Ha Lee (NINEFOX GAMBIT).

You can binge-watch the entire season online now! I've been a fan of this duology for a long time (and would love for the show to get popular so that the books continue!) and have been waiting to see what this show will be like.  To celebrate, I decided that I wanted to re-read the books, update my old reviews, and talk about my thoughts once I've seen the whole season. I was originally going to do ALL OF THE THINGS this week, then decided to spread it out. So every Tuesday, in honor of each week's new episode, you'll get something new about the show from me! How fun!! ^.~ Today, we're going to start with my original review of FAMOUS IN LOVE, so I can tell you about why I loved the book so much and have been so eager for more from this world!

THE IMMORTAL LIFE OF HENRIETTA LACKS by Rebecca Skloot is an amazing true story. It centers around Henrietta Lacks, a poor woman whom scientists experimented on in the 1950s at the Johns Hopkins Hospital 'colored' ward. She died when she was only 31 years old, however, through science, she has become immortal. Her cells led to several scientific breakthroughs such as the polio vaccine, and were the first human cells to ever be successfully cloned. 

By now, you've likely heard of ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE by Anthony Doerr. It was 2014's sleeper hit and sat on the ???????New York Times Best Sellers List for over a hundred week. It won the Pulitzer Prize, was a National Book Award Finalist, and won many other awards. The book was so popular for so long, that it only came out in paperback this month, almost exactly three years since its debut.

I love books related to stage theatre and Hollywood alike, and get really excited when I find something new--especially when that something is Broadway-related. When I found out that Alison Cherry's brand-new novel LOOK BOTH WAYS took place in this world, I was completely in and couldn't wait to get my hands on the book.

This week, Publishers Marketplace announced that Maggie Stiefvater's best-selling quartet The Raven Cycle has been picked up for television by Universal Cable Productions. The pilot episode is set to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke, best known for bringing Stephenie Meyer's best-selling Twilight series to film. Hardwicke will also executive produce the series. The show will also be executive produced by Michael London via his Groundswell Productions Banner. The series will be led by showrunner Andrew Miller, who worked on adapting L.J. Smith's book series The Secret Circle to TV.

AMERICAN BORN CHINESE by Gene Luen Yang broke boundaries when it won the 2007 Printz Award and was a 2006 National Book Award finalist. No graphic novel had ever received either award before. The graphic novel has gone on to win many other awards and become a school reading staple.

From starring in her own hit YouTube Channel series The Haunting of Sunshine Girl to co-writing a book trilogy about her main character Sunshine, and now, possibly to a TV series, Paige McKenzie has made quite the name for herself!
