Beau Higgins - Page 81

Beau Higgins Currently spending his time between New York and Florida, Beau was born to a theatrical family in Brooklyn. He studied drama at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and at HB Studios. He studied theater singing with Julia Sperratore and Helen Gallagher. Beau later taught drama at the Lincoln Center Square for the Arts. It was at this time Beau began working with the Theater Development Fund and helped found New York's famed HALF PRICE TICKET BOOTH. Early in his career, Beau was screen tested and contracted for Warner Brothers. He co-hosted, an early cable variety series on Manhattan's Teleprompter channel. At this time he directed the Johnny Specca musical, SEX IS..? at the Lincoln Center Library Theater. Beau has performed Off-Broadway in FAT FELL DOWN, The Comic Strip Theater's LITTLE LULU AND THE INVISIBLE INK and WILL THE REAL ZOOPERMAN PLEASE STAND UP. Around the country he has delighted audiences with his performances in ANYTHING GOES, THE APPLE TREE, GUYS & DOLLS, and HELLZAPOPPIN! He sang for New York audiences at such cabarets as The Duplex and Upstairs at the Downstairs. He has had numerous television appearances but is most proud to have been a winning contestant on the game shows JACKPOT and THE $20,000 PYRAMID.




'Raised In Captivity' By Nicky Silver At New Theatre

This Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominated dark comedy starts with estranged twin siblings who are attending their mother's funeral, after she was killed by her broken, flying shower head. Add in a husband, a ghost, a convicted murderer, a male escort and a therapist and what you get is a whacky, absurdist comedy about serious family values, relationships and self discovery.

The ADDYs are the advertising and marketing industry's most significant awards competition, with more than 60,000 entries annually. The Adrienne Arsht Center's 11 awards recognized marketing efforts surrounding a number of shows and programs, including its inaugural Masterworks Season, 2009 Jazz Roots series, 2009 Flamenco Festival, and the summer smash hit Fuerza Bruta, which proved to be one of the most successful and longest-running shows in the Center's history.

Caldwell Theatre Announces 2010-2011 Season: Originality is the Mandate

The fourth play will be filled with the new play from the always original Sarah Ruhl (The Clean House, Dead Man's Cell Phone) titled, In the Next Room or the vibrator play. Fresh from its successful run at Lincoln Center in New York, Caldwell Theatre was one of the first regional theater's to gain the rights to produce the play. 'What will grab people's attention with this piece is its enormous heart,' opined Cholerton. In The Next Room... focuses on a doctor at the turn of the century who is experimenting with a new electrical device to treat women with a variety of anxiety related symptoms. Not surprisingly, his patients continue to leave personal belongings behind to assure themselves an immediate second appointment. 'The play is indeed based on historical fact of the medical treatment of women at the time, but as is the case with any Sarah Ruhl play, you are taken into a world of heightened fantasy which has you engaged with these wonderful characters from start to finish. I believe In The Next Room will be one of the lasting plays to come out of the 00's decade,' concluded Cholerton.
