New Theatre presents its final production of the 2009-2010 season: Raised in Captivity by Nicky Silver, running April 23 through May 16, 2010. This Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominated dark comedy starts with estranged twin siblings who are attending their mother's funeral, after she was killed by her broken, flying shower head. Add in a husband, a ghost, a convicted murderer, a male escort and a therapist and what you get is a whacky, absurdist comedy about serious family values, relationships and self discovery.

The Caldwell Theatre Company has announced the latest installment of their Broadway Concert Series by producing the Stephen Sondheim, James Lapine classic 'Into The Woods,' after Caldwell's acclaimed concert of 'Sunday in the Park With George' by the same writing team.

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks will kick off its 11th Anniversary season with George Bernard Shaw's play 'Candida' on Wednesday, October 6th (8PM) at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard). The fourth play will be filled with the new play from the always original Sarah Ruhl (The Clean House, Dead Man's Cell Phone) titled, In the Next Room or the vibrator play. Fresh from its successful run at Lincoln Center in New York, Caldwell Theatre was one of the first regional theater's to gain the rights to produce the play. 'What will grab people's attention with this piece is its enormous heart,' opined Cholerton. In The Next Room... focuses on a doctor at the turn of the century who is experimenting with a new electrical device to treat women with a variety of anxiety related symptoms. Not surprisingly, his patients continue to leave personal belongings behind to assure themselves an immediate second appointment. 'The play is indeed based on historical fact of the medical treatment of women at the time, but as is the case with any Sarah Ruhl play, you are taken into a world of heightened fantasy which has you engaged with these wonderful characters from start to finish. I believe In The Next Room will be one of the lasting plays to come out of the 00's decade,' concluded Cholerton.
