As the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County enters its fifth year serving South Florida, its leaders are rolling out a special 5th Anniversary Season that will celebrate the institution's success as a presenter of world-class programs that reflect Miami's diverse population, an economic engine in the City's thriving urban core, and as a model public/private partnership that has made critical investments in important community-based initiatives. The Adrienne Arsht Center 's mission will factor prominently into a special 5th Anniversary Season Gala event to be held on the stage of the Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera House on Thursday, October 28, 2010.

'The Lunchbox Theatre Series got a makeover this season,' said Florida Rep Education Director, Rachael Endrizzi. 'Not only are we performing onstage in the Historic Arcade Theatre, but we have a new lunch partner, The Morgan House -and we've added a whole new component with an interactive workshop that will really enhance each child's theatre experience. It is going to be an exciting year, and we're thrilled to open with How I Became a Pirate.'

The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts will host the inaugural A.C.E. Institute Showcase featuring talented students from Conniston Community Middle School in West Palm Beach. This free, ticketed showcase (Lights...Camera...A.C.E.!) will be held at the Kravis Center's outdoor Gosman Amphitheatre on Friday, November 19, at 7 p.m.

Lewis Carroll's classic English fairy tale, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, adapted and directed by Stephanie Ansin, comes to life with a tropical, South Florida twist on The PlayGround Theatre stage, 9806 NE 2nd Avenue, in Miami Shores, November 3rd through December 19th.

Directed by George Gugleotti, auditions will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at the Waterfront Playhouse, 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Anyone arriving before 7:00 will be seen. The play requires experienced actors who are comfortable with the verbal and emotional demands of Mamet's characters. Legendary impressionist, Christopher Peterson brings his stage extravaganza 'EYECONS, Las Vegas or Bust' to the Waterfront Playhouse for three nights only, playing October 23, 24 and 25 at 8 pm. This official Fantasy Fest event will mark Christopher's final Key West appearances before relocating to Las Vegas. His all-live, no lip-sync show features hilarious parodies of all the great female stars, plus four dancers, over-the-top costumes and Vegas-style sets. The Waterfront, as one of Fantasy Fest's premier sponsors, is thrilled that Christopher chose the Playhouse as the venue for his Key West performing swan song.

The national tour of the smash hit musical DREAMGIRLS makes its Miami premiere at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami Dade County for a one week limited engagement, Tuesday, October 19 through Sunday, October 24 as the first presentation of the BROADWAY IN MIAMI 2010-2011 season, presented by the Adrienne Arsht Center, Broadway Across America-Miami and presenting sponsor Bank of America.

New Theatre's (THE NEW) 25th Anniversary continues with the Southeastern Premiere of the critically acclaimed Broadway play, Jack Goes Boating (October 8 - 24, 2010) by Bob Glaudini after its successful New York City production directed and starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. Laced with cooking classes, swimming lessons and a smorgasbord of illegal drugs, Jack Goes Boating is a touching and warmhearted play about learning how to stay afloat in the deep water of day-to-day living where date panic, marital meltdown, betrayal, and the prevailing grace of the human spirit abound.

Now showing in Theatre 2 at Stage Door Theatre is "Steel Magnolias", the beloved play that was also made into a Blockbuster Film starring Julia Roberts. Caldwell Theatre Company has put the finishing touches on its 2010-2011 Season. As previously announced, the season opens with bringing back the multiple Carbonnell winning Vices: A Love Story starring Holly Shunkey and choreographed by AC Ciulla, both Carbonnell winners. Vices...is the groundbreaking musical told primarily through dance and features pastiche style music incorporating modern rock, disco, operetta, and R&B.

Legendary Swiss performance troupe Mummenschanz is coming to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center in Sarasota, FL for a performance at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3rd. The performance is part of the troupe's first U.S. tour since 2003. Tickets are $35-55 and the theatre is located at 777 N. Tamiami Trail. These exclusive, Alden Theatre performances will be Mummenschanz's only performance in the Florida region during this tour.
