Today, multi-disciplinary artist Kim Gordon announced her first-ever solo album, No Home Record, to be released October 11th on Matador Records. The announcement of No Home Record follows the recent opening of Gordon's solo exhibition “She Bites Her Tender Mind” at IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art) in Dublin and “Lo-Fi Glamour” at Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. Among its nine tracks, No Home Record features new single “Sketch Artist” accompanied by a video directed by Berlin-based artist and filmmaker Loretta Fahrenholz who notes ''Sketch Artist' is a haunted car ride. Kim drives as 'Unter' Pool summons passengers throughout nighttime LA. The city drifts by, passengers intermingle in the back seat and Kim's deadly stare shocks pedestrians along her route.” The clip includes a cameo from actress and writer Abbi Jacobson. 

Amadjar - the new album from the Grammy award-winning Tuareg musicians Tinariwen, coming out September 6 – was recorded in southern Morocco, accompanied by an old camper van that was converted into a makeshift studio. Every evening, the caravan stopped to set up camp and the members of Tinariwen got to work under the stars to prepare for the recording, talking things through, letting their guitar motifs, thoughts and long buried songs come. Then, during a final two-week camp in the desert around Nouakchott, the band, joined by The Mauritanian griotte Noura Mint Seymali and her guitarist husband, Jeiche Ould Chigaly, recorded their songs under large tent in a few live takes, without headphones or effects.

Acclaimed singer/songwriter/bluesman Jonah Tolchin has confirmed additional tour dates in support of his fourth studio album, Fires for the Cold, out September 13 on Yep Roc Records. The 15-date U.S. tour kicks off August 29, in New York City with stops in Nashville at AmericanaFest, Washington, D.C., Charlotte, Decatur, Cambridge, amongst others. Out October 18th, Singles Too collects Screaming Females' complete non-album recordings, gathering together early 7” singles, digital-only b-sides, and one pretty great remix. The download and CD will also feature six cover songs, including the New Jersey trio's takes on music by Neil Young, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, and Patti Smith. The vinyl version of the album will be a one-time pressing limited to 1500 copies.
