And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Athol Fugard, who turns 83 today!

South African playwright Athol Fugard's works on Broadway have included The Road to Mecca, "MASTER HAROLD"... and the boys, Blood Knot, A Lesson From Aloes, The Island and Sizwe Banzi Is Dead. He received 2011's Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement and has bee honored with several Tony and Drama Desk nominations throughout his career. Fugard is a prolific writer of plays, novels and screenplays, as well as an actor. The film adaptation of his novel Tsotsi, directed by Gavin Hood, won an Academy Award in 2005.
