On October 29th, VBurger will change the way people experience vegan food when they open the doors to their first-ever location in Union Square. Featuring a concise menu of classic American diner food, burgers, fries and milkshakes, V Burger will bring vegan food to the masses.
The masterminds behind VBurger are restaurateurs Robert Cox and Reese Martin, two dedicated vegans and animal advocates. Cox and Martin are committed to changing the vegan conversation in NYC with VBurger, and will donate 10% of all profits to Mercy for Animals.
"Most people see veganism as a difficult and unrealistic way to cook, but it's delicious and more accessible than people realize," said Reese Martin. She continues, "The idea for VBurger is to give people an easy way to enjoy vegan food without overwhelming them with unrecognizable dishes. We are serving up family favorites, but in a healthy and animal-friendly way, and the outcome is delicious."
Thanks to celebrities such as Beyoncé and Jay Z, veganism is beginning to be embraced in people's daily diets, but many still see their meal as unfinished if it doesn't include meat. VBurger is determined to turn this idea around with a menu aimed towards vegans and non-vegans alike.
The men behind the menu at VBurger are Chef Eli Arazi, who fell in love with vegan cooking at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts, and Chef Rick Babich, an experienced restaurant and private chef who has cooked in New York and in San Francisco at the Kensington Park Hotel & Elks Club. The VBurger menu features inventive flavor-packed dishes that play upon the vegan philosophy in an easily digestible package of burgers, fries and shakes.
Marked by a giant green V at the entry way, VBurger delivers GMO free, low soy and nut conscious creative vegan selections including the Einstein Burger, a unique burger creation made with cauliflower and potato; the Portobello Steak Sandwich, marinated and grilled Portobello mushroom caps with veggies on Ciabatta; the Spicy Black Bean Burger, a spicy savory burger with lettuce, tomato, onions and VSauce; and the Fried Unchik'n Sandwich, dipped in chickpea batter and served fried on a burger bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles and VSauce.
The menu will also feature all organic sides such as fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings, which are made with organic canola oil as well as a selection of classic American vegan milkshakes with flavors including chocolate, vanilla and cherry.
VBurger is located at 815 Broadway and will also offer catering and delivery options. For more information please call 212-533-8777 or visit www.vburger.com.
