Champagne Taittinger, one of the last family-owned grand marque Champagne houses in the world, recently toasted Chef Alain Sailhac on January 6th at his surprise bash celebrating his 80th birthday. Sailhac's wife and several esteemed colleagues, including Jacque Torres, planned the event in secret, which took place at Jacques Torres Chocolate in New York City in SoHo. Guests enjoyed an array of culinary delights, along with Champagne Taittinger's acclaimed Brut La Française NV. Champagne Taittinger's Ambassador and renowned sommelier Chantelle Pabros, of Morrell & Company, attended and toasted Chef Sailhac with a six-level Champagne tower in celebration of the event.
