Drexler's is our "Bar of the Week." Restaurateur, Darin Rubell has gotten everything right about this spot. With craft cocktails, a great staff, house-curated charcuterie and a totally welcoming ambiance, it has the perfect vibe for the Lower East Side scene. This is a neighborhood bar and so much more. Stop by Drexler's with friends after work and again for your late night cravings.
Drexler's has two floors. There's street level with an extensive 35-foot bar and comfortable communal tables. Take notice of the vintage cast iron bathtubs behind the bar, filled with your favorite cold beers. The downstairs has a long walnut bar and the décor includes repurposed church pews. The raised wood ceilings and the handmade globe lights bring a real sense of warmth to the room.
We visited Drexler's on a Monday night and enjoyed some of their fall menu cocktails and charcuterie. Dustin Olson has created a cocktail program that will please every taste with inventive mixes and beloved favorites. We tried the Bee's Knees a refreshing blend of 12 Botanist Islay Gin, Lemon Mezcal Especial, Falernum, ginger, lime and Angostura Bitters. Bourbon aficionados will savor the "Duck Hunt" with 13 Russell's Reserve 10 year Bourbon, Calvados, Spiced Demerara, Angostura and Orange Bitters. Celebrate and share the "Employee of the Month." This is a fantastic drink for two with 26 Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, Oloroso Sherry, Passion Fruit, Orgeat, Pineapple and Lime. Cozy up with a special someone and enjoy.
The selections of house-made charcuterie couldn't be better. You can select them as you enjoy your drinks by just filling out the menu card at your table. A few of our favorites included the Ricotta with Truffle Honey, the Raw Market Selection of Veggies and the Coppa Calabrese, spicy Calabrian-style capicola. These are served with a selection of breads like naan, whole grain, baguette or farm house crisps and spreads that include Olive Tapenade and Fig Jam.
The music program is ideal for Drexler's. Their DJ spins your favorite vinyl, there's an upright piano and the venue is perfect for some impromptu performances. Gather your group and head downtown to Drexler's. One trip will never be enough.
