There's no other restaurant like Seamstress located on the Upper East Side of New York City. From the moment you step in the door, you know you will have a distinctive dining experience. Tucked away on 75th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues, one visit to Seamstress will make you return again and again. It is ideal for the neighborhood, convenient to Yorkville and well worth the trip uptown.

The decor is elegant, yet comfortable blending rustic and subtle modern design with soft lighting. Seamstress has two stylish, intimate bar areas, high-top tables and spacious booths. It is perfect for date night, stopping by with friends after work and late night.

Delicious contemporary cuisine is complimented by an inspired cocktail list that will thrill drink enthusiasts. We like the creative way the menu is organized. For "Needlework," we started with their Griddle Cake, better than your grandma makes, served with smoked farmer's cheese. And the West Loop Charcuterie Board is perfect for table sharing. Their "Local Raw Bar" includes fresh succulent oysters. For "Woven Together," we enjoyed their perfectly seasoned Fried Cauliflower tossed in pumpkin seed persillade. We highly suggest you indulge in one of their "Main Seams" that include Mutton Burger with triple cream or their Smoked & Fried Yardbird with reserved citrus thyme oil & chili garlic honey. Each dish will arrive at your table wonderfully presented. The menu at Seamstress offers daily specials and it changes with the season to incorporate the freshest ingredients in their dishes.

This may be the only place in the area that offers Baked Alaska for dessert. With Strawberry and tarragon meringue, it is served flaming for effect, and luscious to the very last bite.

The cocktails we sampled, Pine Tavern Road, Cold in the Shadow and Promised Land are popular favorites at Seamstress. We'd could list the ingredients in these incredible mixes, but won't. Get there, relax, sip a cocktail and savor the experience.

Seamstress is located at 339 East 75th Street, New York, NY 10021. They are open Sunday through Thursday from 5:00 pm to 2:00 am and on Friday and Saturday from 5:00 pm to 4:00 am.
