The Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company presents this screwball comedy from September 19 through October 13, with an 8:00 p.m. curtain. It is the usual Wednesday through Saturday schedule, except there is no show on Wednesday, October 3, and an added show on Sunday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, September 19 is an after-show opening night party at Aleathea's Restaurant at The Inn of Cape May, 7 Ocean Street, where patrons have the opportunity to mingle with actors and fellow theater lovers while indulging in complimentary hors d'oeuvres. There is an after-show Q&A with the cast and director on Friday, September 28, and on Friday, October 12, is an American Sign Language interpreted performance. (more...)

East Lynne Theater Company Presents THE AMERICAN SONGBOOK, 11/8by BWW News Desk - Oct 15, 2012 On Thurs., November 8, the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company presents 'The American Songbook' where all may test their skills with a Music Trivia Contest. Questions could be about a movie featuring a famous song written by Cole Porter, Bruce Springsteen, or Woodie Guthrie, or what were those lyrics to a song sung by Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, or Dolly Parton? How about what song was sung in which Broadway musical? To add to the fun, music is performed live by Chris Sooy, Lew London, and Grace Wright, and winners receive prizes. The evening begins at 5:30p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. At 6:00p.m. is a sumptuous dinner, and at 7:00, the competition begins! The MCs for the evening are Mark Lang and Scott Eck. Last season, Terry Teachout of 'The Wall Street Journal' gave ELTC kudos for producing a rarely seen play by Rachel Crothers, 'He and She,' and now the company tackles the seldom seen scenes of Ruth Draper. East Lynne Theater Company Announces Wildwood After-School Programby BWW News Desk - Dec 28, 2012 Last spring, Josepha Penrose, Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction for Wildwood Public Schools asked artistic director, Gayle Stahlhuth, if East Lynne Theater Company would be interested in being part of an after-school program for Wildwood students. She was applying for the federally funded 21st Century Learning Centers grant. Since the Wildwood School District decided its theme would be visual and performing arts, Penrose believed ELTC would be a good partner. In late August, Penrose received word that the district was awarded the grant and the program must start on October 1. (more...)
