DAMON KIRSCHE appears on stage and concert across the country, hailed for his “riveting showmanship,” (Variety), “spine-tingling resonance” (LA Times) and as a “raw dynamo” (Backstage). “We all thought they didn't make leading men like this for the American musical theater anymore… a gorgeous legit voice, used with delicacy as well as power." (Dallas Morning News). “Kirsche has one of the best and most versatile male voices of this generation," (Gerard Alessandrini, Tony Award-winning author of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY). Damon originated the role “Logos” for Eric Whitacre’s PARADISE LOST: SHADOWS AND WINGS at Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Concert Hall and received a Barrymore nomination for his creation of Joseph Pujol in Seth Rozin’s A PASSING WIND at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center.

Recent stage: MARY POPPINS (Mr. Banks) and SPAMALOT (Galahad) at MTWichita. Favorite roles include Julian Marsh in 42ND STREET with Musical Theatre West at the Carpenter Center, Rick Anderson in the new Harold Arlen musical ONE FOR MY BABY at the New 42nd St. Studios, Carl Magnus in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC at South Coast Repertory and a decade of performances with MTWichita (including Henry Higgins in MY FAIR LADY, King Arthur in CAMELOT, Franklin Hart, Jr. in 9 TO 5 and in concert with Kelli O’Hara), and numerous appearances with both NY’s Encores Series and LA’s Reprise Series.

Damon has appeared as featured soloist at NY’s City Center, Weill Hall, the 92nd St Y, Lincoln Center and most recently with “Fred Barton and his Orchestra” in the American Showstoppers concert series at New York’s Schimmel Center and Bruce Kimmel’s “Kritzerland” cabaret series at the Federal in Los Angeles. Damon is the lead crooner for “Dean Mora and his Orchestra,” performing original dance band arrangements from the ‘Teens through the ‘Sixties at historic venues throughout Southern California and at the 25th Anniversary of Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing series, and is featured on their recordings “Goblin Market” and “Devil’s Serenade.” Other recordings: “Girl Crazy” and “Ziegfeld Follies of 1936” (Decca Broadway), “Tip-Toes” (Carnegie Hall Concert recording) and “Lyrics and Music by Charles Bloom: In Here.” He is a proud member of L.A.’s Musical Theatre Guild with which he has appeared in over a dozen staged readings. On screen, he can be seen as “Harry McCarthy” in the civil war epic “Gods and Generals,” and as the first “Nuu’bari” on “Star Trek: Voyager.” Training: Juilliard.

KRITZERLAND Offers a Delectable Brunch Matinee


On Sunday June 2, Kritzerland celebrated its 99th performance with a special brunch matinee at Feinstein's Upstairs at Vitello's, entitled June Is Brunching Out All Over. It was supposed to be a tribute to Harry Warren, but as host Bruce Kimmel explained, it's often better to throw in a few other songs from different composers...so the show was a mix...and delightful with musical director Richard Allen at the keys and a bevy of exceedingly talented singers including special guest Bill Hayes...Kim Huber, Kelley Dorney, Jenna Lea Rosen, Robert Yacko, Damon Kirsche and Bruce Kimmel himself perfoming a lovely solo number 'Hushabye Mountain' by the Sherman Brothers for the film 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.
