Tap Root by Ashley Milne
After a childhood spent incarcerated, he’s keeping his head down. Between waitering at TGI Fridays, avoiding fines on his library card, and cultivating a workplace romance, his head is just about above water.
But when an all-too-familiar story hits the headlines, it threatens to bring the life he’s trying to build for himself crashing down. Will he survive the government’s - and his own - attempt to cover up who he really is? Is there a path back to a normal life after the things he’s done?
Tap Root is Ashley Milne’s newest work, a gripping and moving piece about a young man’s search for connection and compassion after a childhood in prison. Performed by James Chetwood, and brought to the stage by Teastain Theatre, a collaboration between Rebecca McGreevy and Jessy Roberts.
Matinee performance on Saturday 15 February at 2pm, all other shows on at 7pm
