The 2024/2025 season brought several Broadway shows and musicals to Las Vegas. A slice of New York's theater magic in the desert is always welcomed, even though Vegas has its own distinctive form of entertainment. But Broadway shows in Vegas often have a unique twist, and they’re definitely something you should catch, especially if you’re not visiting New York any time soon.
The Leader in a Variety of Entertainment
As an epicenter of the typical American “over-the-top” approach to entertainment, Las Vegas stands out even in the US. It has everything imaginable. When I first visited Vegas, I felt like I was joining one big circus show. Everything is there to entertain you, and even if you’re not particularly fond of what you’re being presented with, you will appreciate the effort. Casinos are what most people are there for, obviously. That’s what Las Vegas is all about. The whole “Vegas vibe” is being recreated even by different online casinos, including Vegas casino online. These online versions serve the overall feel of land-based casinos through websites and apps, but given the flexibility of digital products, the offering of games in online casinos is much greater than in “real” casinos. Now, the variety of entertainment options in Vegas really has no limits. You can go on amazing tours in or outside the city. You can go to museums or amusement parks. Or – you can watch a Broadway show. Here’s what’s worth visiting:
Hamilton
Las Vegas hasn't been left behind in the wave of popularity that's followed Lin-Manuel Miranda's game-changing musical about Alexander Hamilton’s life. Presented through a mixture of hip-hop, R&B and more conventional Broadway styles, this show is as educational as it is entertaining when recounting the tale of an American founding father Alexander Hamilton. The show has received 11 Tony Awards, along with Grammy and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and a remarkable special commendation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
Jersey Boys
This play with songs tells the Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons success story. “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” are among the group’s unforgettable hits showcased in the production, which offers a trip down memory lane with this legendary band. The show was nominated for 21 awards, ultimately winning 4 Tony awards, an Olivier award, 2 Drama Desk awards, and one Grammy for the best new musical show album.
SIX
SIX, a musical that camouflages itself as a high-energy pop concert, reconceives the six wives of Henry VIII as members of a contemporary girl band. Every queen gets her turn to shine by narrating her own story with the help of infectious and uplifting music that enables them to take back control over their life and revel in their uniqueness within an entertaining feminist framework. SIX has quickly become a global phenomenon, and if you have an opportunity to catch it while in Vegas, do it! You won’t be sorry.
Chicago
Often praised, Chicago surely ranks as one of the top Broadway productions that shows you don’t need crazy sets and costumes in order to create a good musical. The story easily picks up momentum and delivers one fabulous song after another, all while John Kander and Fred Ebb’s classic scores seamlessly take action to the next level. The original choreography of Bob Fosse from 1975 is still as sexy as when Chicago was first staged.
Menopause The Musical
Menopause is all about women who are about to go through, well, menopause. The story brings four women together in a department store. They all have one thing in common – hot flashes, mood swings and the rest of the things that accompany menopause. Many swear that this is one of the funniest Las Vegas musicals ever written. Without ignoring the important topic for many women, Menopause talks to all females in the audience, experiencing the change, with the spirit that they are not the only ones in that battle. At first, many were quite cautious about the whole show, but it proved to be one of the best-selling shows in the current Las Vegas season. Recommended for all women over 45. And especially their husbands!
