Rising star of the London jazz scene, guitarist and singer-songwriter Shirley Tetteh, AKA Nardeydey, plays the Elgar Room with her band Tetteh as part of EFG London Jazz Festival.
Having accompanied such notable musicians as Gary Crosby, MOBO Award-winners Moses Boyd and Zara McFarlane, alto saxophonists Nathaniel Facey and Camilla George, as well as critically-acclaimed tenor saxophonist Courtney Pine as a guitarist, Shirley has likewise begun showing great abilities as a left-of-centre pop songwriter and producer.
Under her Nardeydey moniker, her self-titled EP was included in many ‘best of’ lists including BBC Radio 1 DJ Jamz Supernoza’s ‘Top five EPs of the week’, and in recent years she has supported highly-acclaimed artists Kae Tempest and Panda Bear.
This concert is part of the Donne Foundation at the Royal Albert Hall concert series. Donne, Women in Music is a charitable foundation dedicated to achieving gender equality in the music industry.
