To celebrate the sixth anniversary of Donne, Women in Music, versatile pianist Caroline Cooper and her Pulse Quartet take to the Elgar Room stage, showcasing a mix of modern jazz and funk arrangements (including songs by Herbie Hancock) plus instrumental originals.
Caroline is a highly accomplished classically-trained pianist who has diversified into jazz. Distinguished as a performer at several editions of London's prestigious EFG London Jazz Festival she is regularly featured in London's vibrant jazz scene, and has performed at renowned venues including Pizza Express, Spice of Life and the Bull's Head, as well as festivals across the continent.
Her musical versatility extends across diverse genres, seamlessly transitioning from her own modern jazz trio to dynamic funk ensembles and classic big bands.
Beyond her performances, Caroline is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians exemplified by her involvement in teaching at London's Girl Plays Jazz in 2022. Currently in the process of shaping her debut album, Caroline is diligently refining her distinctive sound with plans to enter the recording studio in late 2024. Her unwavering passion for music and dedication to artistic excellence define her as a prominent figure in the contemporary jazz scene.
