Singer/songwriter sensation Hak Baker is the special guest interviewee on Immigrant Island Dubplates - a live podcast experience that reimagines a certain legendary BBC radio programme for a new generation.
Imagine each episode as one of those small boats, crossing the Channel, carrying changemakers, young creative entrepreneurs, poets, musicians, visual artists, founders of charities, festivals, activists and community leaders.
Now more than ever, its time to spotlight the unsung heroes that make this strange island of Britain, Great - powered by intimate stories of immigration, identity and subcultures.
Inspired by the classic radio show format, Lyrix Organix invite one very special guest to select eight records to take with them to a desert island - a revealing mix of a deeply personal interview, soundtracked by the songs that define their life and career.
This episode will be recorded in front of a live audience (you!), produced by the team behind Glastonbury Festival's infamous Rum Shack. Hosted by British-Chinese creative director, Dan Tsu (Glastonbury, Roundhouse, British Councul). Featuring live music and spoken word, short film and DJ sets programmed in partnership with the interviewed guest. Influenced by soundsystem culture, immigration and untold histories.
Please note this is a podcast recording, not a live performance from the featured guest.
