In partnership with the Royal College of Music London. Please note that Classical Coffee Mornings often sell out and tickets are rarely available to purchase on the day.
Formed in 2023 by prizewinning students from the Royal College of Music in London, the String Quintet 256 is recognised for its exciting performances and fresh interpretations.
With a passion for chamber music, members of the quartet have performed at venues such as Wigmore Hall, LSO St. Luke’s, Elgar Room, St. James’ Piccadilly, St. Mary’s Perivale, and St. George Bristol, and in festivals such as the Chipping Campen Music Festival, Bloomsbury Festival, Super String Sunday, and Stamford International Music Festival.
Exploring a wide range of repertoire, the group has been coached by distinguished figures in the chamber music scene such as the members of the Brodsky Quartet and Ensemble 360’s cellist Gemma Rosefield.
With a growing interest in contemporary music and sharing this with a wider audience, the ensemble is closely working with RCM composers on new works that they will be able to perform in their future engagements, including a commissioned piece by pianist and composer Rob Hao.
