I Can't Believe You've Done This comes to Edinburgh this August
BWW catches up with Ania Magliano about bringing I Can't Believe You've Done This to the 2023 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Tell us a bit about I Can't Believe You've Done This
Early last year I got a really bad haircut, and complained about it to so many people that it's now basically turned into a one hour show. It's the jumping off point for thinking about difficult moments and low points in life, and how to come back from them.
Having had a very well received show in 2022, are you feeling any pressure this year?
Absolutely! I feel so grateful for how Edinburgh was last year for me, it was a complete dream come true and I didn't expect it. At the same time, I think it would be very difficult not to feel that pressure this year, and I would want audiences who come back this year to be able to enjoy it as much, ideally more.
I think it's motivated me to work harder, and put even more of myself into the show. I really hope that people who see this show will think I've developed and improved.
Do you think you know what to expect from the Fringe?
Physically, yes, I've bought some extra comfortable trainers for walking to and from my venue, and a massive raincoat. And that's me being the most prepared I've ever been. Emotionally, I have absolutely no idea. But at least I'll be dry!
Who would you like to come and see you?
Anyone who has ever had a haircut they didn't like. But bald people are welcome too!
What would you like audiences to take away from this show?
An uplifting and powerful message about overcoming adversity. And that my hair looks good now.
