BWW speaks to Luca Cupani to chat about taking God Digger to the 2018 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Tell us a bit about God Digger.
I'm a practising Catholic (and an observant hypochondriac) and in my exciting life in our lovely planet (a.k.a. "vale of tears") I try to find a balance between my sinful ambitions and my congenital guilt. Will I succeed? If you come to the show you might find an answer...
Who would you recommend comes to see God Digger?
You would love it, I'm sure! And anyone else who likes storytelling with an endearing (sometimes dark) humour and who doesn't mind an Italian accent.
What sets it apart from other comedy shows at the Fringe?
Maybe, my style: even when I talk about sex I am quite clean. I tend not to pick on my audience and I never swear, because I find it more challenging. Also, I like to be very personal and share intimate confessions on stage (not in a creepy way).
Having performed at the festival before do you think you know what to expect?
Every year, I believe that everything is under control, but then I realise that I am wrong (maybe this is what makes the Fringe so special).
Are there any other shows you're hoping to see while in Edinburgh?
There is a long list of shows that I hope to see, here is just some of them (in alphabetical order):
Anuvab Pal: Empire
Austentatious
Ed Night: An Aesthetic
Romina Puma It's all my mother fault
Tim Renkow Tries to punch down
