The first day at the Fringe is always a bit of a whirlwind. After checking into my accommodation, my first stop is Fringe Central to pick up my pass and arrange tickets for the week ahead.

After my first couple of shows, it's hard not to be led astray by the Italian Prosecco Escape at the back of the Pleasance courtyard...

My fourth show of day one is Yeti's Demon Dive Bar, and I ran into a rogue yeti in the Pleasance Courtyard! The yetis are out flyering their show in full costume, which is an impressive suit made from mops, but apparently can be problematic when flyering in the rain.

One of my favourite sunny day hangouts is the Assembly Gardens at George Square. A nice place to grab food or a drink, but beware of the sudden Edinburgh downpours.

I am notoriously rubbish at celebrity spotting at the Festival (although last year I did see Phil Jupitus a record-breaking three times), but I did catch Randy doing some press in the Pleasance Dome.

Eurobeat issues audiences with flags for the country they have to support during the show. BWW was rooting for Norway for the evening!

The Pleasance Courtyard is beautifully lit up at night.

Early morning sprint to the Traverse for a show. Despite having attended the Festival as long as I can remember, I'm still taken aback by Edinburgh views.

Solid flyering techniques from Agent Of Influence and Bubble Revolution, providing me with cocktail stirrers and Nutella along with their flyers.

I struggle to eat well during the Festival, as I spend so much time rushing between venues and trying to get reviews written up. This year I found this little gem down at the Assembly Gardens. BroadwayWorld don't do star ratings on food vendors, but if we did, these guys would get 5/5!

The main character in The Suitcase Kid won't go anywhere without her bunny toy Radish. As a big fan of the Jacqueline Wilson book, I was thrilled to find my own little Radish sitting on my seat.

Post Nina Conti - another well designed flyer...

Another tiresome Edinburgh view. That, plus an extraordinary range of theatre, keeps me coming back year after year. Here's to 2017!
