The Olivier Awards with MasterCard - the most prestigious event in the UK's theatrical calendar - has revealed some of the details of the awards ceremony to be held on Sunday 13 April at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and broadcast later that evening on ITV in a full highlights package.
Two international stage and screen stars will host the proceedings for this glittering event: Gemma Arterton, announced to star this coming autumn in the new musical Made In Dagenham and Stephen Mangan, appearing on stage in Olivier nominated comedy Jeeves & Wooster In Perfect Nonsense. The voiceover will be provided by Olivier Award winner Julie Walters.
This year's new set has been designed by Es Devlin, the multi award-winning international stage designer whose work crosses a wide range of genres including drama, dance, opera and pop. She designed the London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony and, most recently, provided the set design for the new musical I Can't Sing!. She is herself nominated for an Olivier Award this year for her designs for the play Chimerica.
More details of the UK and international line-up for the awards ceremony on 13 April will be announced shortly.
