Intimate Nights: The Golden Age of Cabaret was the theme of the Third night of The 28th New York Cabaret Convention held at JALC Rose Theater. It was a grand evening and the enthusiastic audience got to enjoy the artists quite well during the 3 1/2 hours of music.
Hosted by music author and journalist James Gavin who was introduced by artistic director KT Sullivan, it featured performances by ( in order of appearance) Spider Saloff & Ricky Ritzel, Maude Maggart, Ronny Whyte, Barbara Brussell, Charles Cochran, Natalie Douglas, John Di Martino, Molly Pope, Sidney Myer, Charles Busch,Bruce Vilanch, Laura Kenyon, Lilianne Montevecchi, Nellie McKay, and Carol Lipnik. Intimate Nights was directed by Kevin Malony and the evening was dedicated to "The First Lady of the American Keyboard" Barbara Carrol.
