Tracy Letts, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his Play August: Osage County, brings audiences to the edge of their collective seats once again with: BUG. Unlike his previous work, the tension centers not around familial drama, but the world of paranoia and terror into which two strangers become completely intertwined.

BUG introduces us to vulnerable characters in search of love, answers, and peace. Though Agnes and Peter's connection does quickly blossom into so much more than friendship, their love is not enough to save them when a sudden bug infestation threatens the pair's safety and comfort. Where did the bugs come from? What exactly are they?

This show draws the audience right in with the characters, making them think, squirm, and maybe even feel a little itchy, too. It forces us to wonder what is real or imagined? How do we react when faced with our worst fears, when we find ourselves suddenly trapped in a strange nightmare? Maybe it is actually then that we discover the real truth...

Nolan Chapa could not be more excited to have his full length directing debut in Denton for Sundown Collaborative Theatre. Nolan was introduced to Sundown when he directed a short play for their Short Works Festival last year titled Exit Interview. Just before moving to Denton, Nolan directed a compiled show consisting of a variety of Shakespearean scenes that he titled Shakespeare in Tatters. Nolan is soon to graduate from the Theatre program at TWU, with an emphasis in acting and directing. Some of Nolan's favorite acting credits include Adam Long's roles in The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged), William in Lovesong, and Khadim in The North Pool.

"One of the things that drew me to Tracy Lett's BUG was the idea that perception shapes reality. As the show moves forward we can see Agnes's reality change before her eyes...she is horribly lonely, she is vulnerable, and she is devoid of a purpose. Peter's confidence in his understanding of the world, coupled with Agnes's perceived lack of understanding of the world creates a sort of perfect storm to create an unhealthy relationship between Agnes and Peter."
