Red Branch Theatre Company (RBTC) continues its 2017 season entitled Mad About You with The Bridges of Madison County, a musical adaptation of the best-selling novel by Robert James Waller. Rehearsals are currently underway and special events are being solidified for the production that will run at Drama Learning Center, where Red Branch is the professional theatre in residence, from September 22 - October 14. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the stars in character below!

Red Branch recently collaborated with local photographer, Bruce F Press, to capture some environmental shots of the actors portraying Francesca and Robert, the show's protagonists. Since the story of The Bridges of Madison County is set in a rural locale in 1960's Iowa, the trio headed out to Western Howard County to approximate the bucolic backdrop for this iconic love story.

Red Branch will partner with other local photographers by acting as a gallery space to showcase the work of members of several regional photography clubs for the duration of the run. Red Branch will also welcome bluegrass group Lone Mountain Band to play a live pre-show set during the first Thirsty Thursday pre-show happy hour on September 28th. Other special events are in the process of being finalized. As with all other mainstage shows at Red Branch Theatre Company, each patron will receive a free dining certificate to The Iron Bridge Wine Company upon arrival to the theatre.

The Bridges of Madison County is a sweeping musical romance that embarks upon the journey of imagining what it would like if one's life took a different turn. Travel back in time and across the heartlands of the United States to an Iowa farm in 1965. Follow the story of four days in the life of Iowa housewife Francesca Johnson at the intersection where she meets ruggedly handsome National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid. Add music and lyrics by TONY Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade) and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Marsha Norman (The Secret Garden, The Color Purple) to complete this lush, immersive piece of musical theatre.

The cast features: Francesca: Erin Granfield; Robert: Ryan Burke*; Bud: Chad Wheeler; Marge: Gillian Shelly*; Charlie: Brian Lyons-Burke; Carolyn: Victoria Meyers; Michael: Carson Collins; and Marian/Chiara: Chani Wereley. *Appearance courtesy of Actors' Equity Association
