Much Ado About Nothing at Unadilla Festival Theater

Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare's most-loved comedies. The plot revolves around two couples — witty Beatrice and Benedick, who publicly proclaim their disdain for each other but are tricked into admitting there is love beneath it all; they contrast with the naïve Hero and Claudio, who fall in a love at first sight, a love that is all but destroyed by the machinations of the villain Don John via "Nothing"--rumor, innuendo, and gossip. With the help of the intrepid neighborhood watch, led by the hapless Dogberry, all “ends well.” This is a comedy entangled with a tragedy, where love and justice ultimately prevail.
