Hearts Beat 2024 is a vibrant musical exploration that celebrates the shared traditions of drum, dance, and song between Indigenous and Irish communities. The event features live performances by the local lexwst’í:lem drum group and Ceol Abú Irish musicians, alongside the participation of Mary Point of the Musqueam Nation. This collaboration fosters intercultural understanding and promotes new connections, uplifting both heart and spirit in a unique afternoon of artistic expression. Directed by the Carnegie Community Centre Indigenous Programs in association with the DTES Heart of the City Festival and the Irish Women's Network of BC.
