This year a new award has been created. The Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards Board of Directors has established the Vancouver Now Representation and Inclusion Award that will recognize excellence in the field of accessibility and inclusion. It will be awarded to an individual, company, production or initiative that is as inclusive as possible, prioritizing the intersections of race, gender, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and age.
