Photo Flash: Sneak Peek at SH*T-FACED SHAKESPEARE at Edinburgh Fringe

Uncensored, explicit and frequently out of control - this is Shakespeare as the Bard himself would recognise it. Probably. Shit-faced Shakespeare by Magnificent BastaRD Productions is an entirely serious production of Much Ado about Nothing with the addition of an entirely shit-faced cast member. With a genuinely drunken professional actor selected at random every night, no two productions are ever the same. The audience add to the danger and energy of the show by controlling when, what and how much the actor drinks. Throughout the show the rest of the entirely sober and highly talented cast desperately attempt to tell the story of Much Ado About Nothing around the drunk.

Previous productions of Shit-faced Shakespeare have featured highlights such as partial transvestitism, simulated sexual acts, actual sexual acts, Justin Timberlake impressions, ill-fated crowd-surfing and unconsciousness.

Hilarious and completely interactive, Shit-faced Shakespeare has entertained thousands of festival-goers since 2010. It completed a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2012, and was nominated for Best Comedy Show at this year's Brighton Fringe Festival.

Shit-faced Shakespeare seeks to introduce a new generation of theatregoers to the works of the Bard of Avon in the manner we are convinced it was originally intended.
