The Arches makes its return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to present the most daring, death defying show on earth, Bullet Catch by Rob Drummond, which will open at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh from Friday 3 – Sunday 26 August 2012.
A stunt so dangerous Houdini refused to attempt it, the Bullet Catch has claimed the lives of at least twelve illusionists, assistants and spectators since its conception in 1613. The show follows the life and death onstage of famed bullet catcher, William Henderson, who tragically died 100 years ago performing the trick. Now, with a little help from his audience, modern day marvel William Wonder presents a unique theatrical magic show featuring storytelling, mind reading, levitation, games of chance and, if you're brave enough to stay for it, the most notorious finale in show business.
Be astounded by this compelling theatre performance. Be amazed by this high calibre magic show with professional tricks galore. Be the audience member selected to take the spotlight as the wonderful magician's glamorous assistant.
Grasp The Edge of your seat and feel the tension build and the adrenaline rise for this powerful performance from acclaimed performer, director, playwright (and magician) Rob Drummond (Wrestling, Mr Write, Sixteen) which will test even the strongest of nerves.
Playwright, actor and director Rob Drummond premiered the show Wrestling at the Arches in February 2011. One of seven winners of the prestigious 2010 Vital Spark award from Creative Scotland, the show thrillingly fused short film, narrative theatre and pro wrestling. Rob was one of two winners of the 2008 Arches Award for Stage Directors with his play Sixteen and has also worked with The National Theatre of Scotland, winning rave reviews for Mr Write at the Tron Theatre in 2010. Rob is currently developing work with the NTS, Traverse Theatre and Oran Mor.
